Sofi Gelvan, MA, LMFT
Sofi is a licensed marriage and family therapist, based in Los Angeles, California. She practices using a psychodynamic framework, while integrating tangible skill-building and a reflective, client-centered holistic approach.
Sofi graduated from Boston University with a BS in Communications, and completed her MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She went on to complete two years of clinical training from the renowned Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, CA, working with individual adults, adolescents and families. Sofi also spent one year at the Norman Aid Center of Beverly Hills High School, providing counseling to students, and completed training as a teen counselor at Cedars Sinai Medical Center's TEENLINE.
Sofi has completed training in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) through ICE-EFT LA externship, and is passionate about working with couples that are struggling with life-transitions, disconnection, high conflict and parenting. She incorporates a psychodynamic framework, along with EFT and attachment theory, to help couples truly understand themselves, their histories and how they can better relate to one another.

“It isn't always easy to be vulnerable, and explore negative experiences or parts of ourselves. I believe creating a warm, collaborative and interactive dynamic with my clients is what leads to the crucial ability to look inward at yourself, gain awareness, and learn how to integrate the many different parts of ourselves in an authentic way. This process is what allows us to create meaningful and lasting change."
